Senior Developer (Java) – Payment Systems Specialist
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Developer to join a high-performance engineering team within the payments sector. This role is ideal for a technically strong developer who thrives in complex, high-volume systems and enjoys working across integration, development, and production support. You will contribute to building secure, scalable solutions that power critical financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain backend services and system integrations for payment platforms.
• Integrate new clients into existing transaction processing systems.
• Design and implement new features and enhancements across core systems.
• Perform system maintenance, debugging, and production support (3rd line).
• Contribute to system security improvements and audit requirements.
• Participate in technical design sessions and architecture discussions.
• Improve engineering processes, coding standards, and deployment practices.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to development team members.
• Work within Agile delivery environments and CI/CD pipelines.
Minimum Requirements
• Relevant degree or diploma in Software Development, Computer Science, or Engineering.
• 8+ years’ professional development experience.
• Strong Java (Spring Boot) development experience.
• Solid understanding of SQL databases (MS SQL Server / PostgreSQL).
• Experience with Git, Maven, and IDEs such as Eclipse or NetBeans.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and automated testing frameworks.
• Understanding of OpenAPI specifications.
• Strong analytical thinking and debugging capability.
• Experience working in high-availability system environments.
Advantageous Skills
• Financial services or payments industry exposure.
• Real-time, high-volume distributed systems experience.
• Postilion development experience.
• Angular front-end development.
• Agile/Scrum or Kanban methodology exposure.
