Our client within the industrial IoT space is looking for a Support Engineer to join the team, reporting to the Support Technical Lead.
Requirements include:
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related qualification
• 2-4+ years’ hands-on mining or electronic work experience
• Install and commission hardware on site: Take responsibility for the installation and commissioning of machine vision systems (IP cameras, IP lasers, network switches, LED lights, etc.) on client equipment, covering sensor mounting, network connectivity, low voltage power supply, and software/XML configuration
• Support clients through handover and training: Provide first-line support handover and training to clients following installation
• Deliver remote monitoring and diagnostics: Conduct ongoing remote health monitoring and maintenance of sensors, liaise with clients to troubleshoot technical issues, and debug sensor, OPC and data integrity problems
• Build efficient support processes: Develop automated troubleshooting toolboxes and standard operating procedures to resolve recurring issues more effectively
• Collaborate on infrastructure planning: Liaise with internal and client IT departments regarding infrastructure architecture planning and maintenance ahead of site installations
• Demonstrate strong technical and interpersonal skills: Bring experience in electronics/hardware troubleshooting (power supplies, PLCs, Wi-Fi, IP cameras, servers, network devices), networking infrastructure, and strong communication, customer focus and problem-solving abilities
